About Savoy Swing Jam
The producers of Savoy Swing Jam are a dedicated lindy hoppers who saw the need for a such an event in the Pacific Northwest. The purpose of Savoy Swing Jam is to:
- inspire local dancers to challenge their dancing within the context of friendly competition;
- provide an opportunity for new lindy hoppers to compete for the first time in a supportive environment for FREE;
- create a sense of community amongst dancers of all skill levels;
- provide a FREE and easy way for non-lindy hopping friends and family to see you dance and learn more about vintage jazz dance and music;
- support dancers who dedicate their time, energy and passion to preserving and growing Lindy Hop and authentic jazz dances.
Mark Kihara, Swing Jam Productions
Mark is famous (some might say "infamous") and ever-present figure of the Seattle lindy hop scene. A teacher, DJ, and emcee, Mark is found at every local dance event, and national and international events as well! He's been on staff at world famous Herrang Dance Camp for years. He also works with Dance It!, a non-profit that brings social dance to local area high schools. www.swingjamproductions.com

Casey Schneider, Right Boot Productions
Casey has been a staple of the Seattle lindy hop scene since 1999. She teaches across the country and regularly performs with Seattle's chorus girl troupe, Sister Kate. Casey is lucky enough that people continue to pay her to talk to them about dancing and haven't discovered her secret that she really would talk about dancing for free. By day, Casey works for CRG Events.
Mark and Casey share an affinity for bacon, the ability to recite the entire script from the movie Silverado, and a passion for Lindy Hop. Both are proud to be part of the Seattle dance scene and hope to give back to the dance community that has given them so much.
